AppStat is a computational statistics research group at the Linear Accelerator Laboratory (LAL) with the mission of creating a scientific link between experimental physics and computer science. Our double goal is advancing basic research in the statistical/data mining/optimization domain of computer science, motivated by real problems in experimental physics, and transferring state-of-the-art data analysis technology to experimental physics. The group collaborates extensively with physics groups at LAL and computer science groups at LRI and LTCI on astroparticle experiments (Auger and JEM EUSO) and particle physics groups (ATLAS and ILC). Some of our technical topics are large numerical Bayesian methods, budgeted learning for triggers, improving the sensitivity of statistical (counting) tests using nonparametric classifiers, and exploring deep learning for scientific data.

CosmoStat is a laboratory of AIM at CEA/IRFU. The scientific field of the CosmoStat interdisciplinary entity is Computational Cosmology. CosmoStat goals are:
- Statistics & Signal Processing: Develop new methods for analyzing astronomical data, and especially in cosmology (PLANCK, EUCLID, etc) where the needs of powerful statistical methods are very important.
- Cosmology: Analyze and interpret data.
- Projects: Participation to important astronomical projects: PLANCK, FERMI, HERSCHEL, EUCLID, etc.
- Teaching: Teach students and young researchers how to analyze astronomical data.
- Dissemination: Take opportunity to disseminate our idea and tools in and outside the astronomical field (CEA, CNRS, University, Industry…).

ADAMIS is an interdisciplinary research group at the AstroParticule et Cosmologie (APC) Laboratory, which conducts research in observational cosmology, with a special emphasis on cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation, as well as gravitation, and megneto-hydrodynamic simulations of compact objects. The group’s research focus is on innovative methods for data analysis of actual and simulated data sets as well as on simulations techniques. The group members have made significant contributions to data analysis of data sets from CMB satellite Planck, ground-based CMB experiment POLARBEAR and gravitational wave observatory VIRGO, as well as to preparations of the future efforts in the areas of CMB, e.g., satellite mission proposal COrE and PRISM, and gravitational waves, e.g., satellite missions LISA and eLISA/NGO.
